Will we get it? I think we can forget that horrible **** Jack Warners vote. As all the other corrupt vermin in that organisation. How the hell will we get the tournament when its all done with bribery and political voting not on the merits of the bid. Would you rather we withdrew our bid than beg these Bustards? i would. Spain and Portugal for me if not us. I Recon Russia will get it though. |

I have a feeling we just miss out, I don't think it will have anything to do with the corruption surounding it , more to do with everybody hating us. |

When you think we have hosted it once in 1966 and since then the Germans have had it twice and are in the running again as well as Spain who hosted in 82--Are we not capable of holding the event? Even Mexico have hosted twice since England and they are virtually a third world country. |

I agree but you know how FIFA is when it comes to England, we throw a few plastic chairs about and we are the hooligans and the devil incarnate , Greece go a rampage stab and kill a couple of supporters and nothing gets done apart from a slap on the wrist. It's a shame that we are vilified in this manner while others are let off for worse. |

If exposing this organisation (fifa) for what it is means we don't get the world cup then so be it. |

Germany got their last World Cup because of England breaking their word. We had agreed to withold making a bid and support Germany - and they would do likewise on the next Northern hemisphere bids - then we reneged and put in a bid. People don't forget that. Regardless of a few "crooks" the voting went in Germany's favour that time because of England's behaviour. I actually think we will get it. Few black or brown players /tourists or fans will want to have the Russian or Spanish "experience". |

but one of the times mexico hosted it was as an emergency second choice after the original host country (i think columbia) had to pull out at the last minute due to a political coup or something like that. i seem to remember hearing or reading that somewhere. common sense would say we would get it. we have the best stadiums, infrastructure and the least racial problems of all the bidders. FIFA have also said that a world cup in England would be the most profitable and the easiest to organise from their point of view. if we don't get it it will be purely political. |

Its nothing to do with the fact that we cant hold it. We could put it on next week every thing is place. Its just that we have to go and beg an organisation full of greedy corrupt swines who spend their lives being wined and dined and treated like royalty and are answerable to erm........... No ****in one! Blatter is a **** insert your own word. Allegedly |

What football heritage do they have? What have they contributed to the world game. Who the hell would want to go there. The country is far to big. What about the racist banners that were on show about the new Albion lad. ***k Russia |

One thing that we can guarantee is that teams competing from Africa or any one with black players will not be racially abused. Could you say that for sure about Russia or Spain? |

Simple answer is No. Outside of Moscow, Leningrad...sorry St Petersburg....tourist dollars in Russia are miniscule. Their road building and transport linkage is quite a few times bigger than faced South Africa when they won their bid. Plus they would have to scatter the groups around the country - which means fans (if any) are based in 11 time zones. In cities without low-medium price hotels, or hotels anyway. They may be building some infrastructure like roads and upgrading airports, but outside of a world cup why would they build hotels that won't be used again for 10-20 years? I think they have to cover all parts of their country with group bases, and their Far East is bigger than Europe. And a fair few hours ahead of the western(Moscow) end. Logistically Russia would be a nightmare. |

So how many tourists spend their $$$ in Poland and Ukraine? If they can host the Euros, what's wrong with Russia hosting the World Cup? As for scattering the group stages across 11 time zones, that's simply not true. The Russians have already said they'll be based in Western Russia, not in Siberia or Vladivostock, where you could hit a golf ball into Korea. As for the transport links being a bigger job than South Africa faced, the big difference is that Russia is a very rich country, and when they set out to do something then it invariably gets done. Your objections would be understandable if there was an ounce of truth in what you've written, but that is not the case, my friend. Not at all. |

FIFA claim to want to stamp rascism out of football and then take the world cup to one of the most rascist countries in the world. nice one. in the real world there would be no competition and we would win easily. but in FIFA land there are other things to consider, like who's given you the fattest envelope. |

Pretty abusive language there bluenose abroad. Why ? Time you took on a more relaxed and informed view.
Some people take input from various sources and refrain from inferring other people are liars, just because of their own ignorance. :banghead: |

So that's at least 16 years before there is even a chance of it coming here. All of the 66 squad could be dead by then. |
